The effectiveness of crops cultivation of the Group increases highly in case of introduction of modern systems of management

Domestic needs and market offer

Startup of any process in the company begins with analysis of activities of structural units, evaluation of scheme for task solution and possible ways to improve it. In other words, startup of any process begins with identification of domestic needs and comparison them with the market offer.

“In our case, there was a necessity to create land bank database of all enterprises of the Group with the ability to export information to corporate management system. Besides, we found the necesity for online access to field-maps and land certificates. The third unit was the database of the location of the vehicle park with the control of fuel consumption.

For example, it is necessary to introduce the block system of crop growing to implement the efficient logistics in the enterprises of the group. Such system can be implemented after analysis of georeferenced fields-maps in conjunction with equipment control in real-time and historical record. As a result, we have a conditional model “field boundary -location – equipment”.

Market offered a variety of options; however, we made a decision to follow the criteria: complexity, functionality and price / quality ratio. With the minimal software this decision helped to create a flexible, complete and universal system of agribusiness management with capability to configure it according to the situation “- told Petro Melnyk.

Corporate system of agricultural technologies

First stage of the project was to define the exact field boundaries. This stage helped to improve the budget, as it depends on the number of hectares under cultivation. Then we created a single database on cultivated areas and their history using the GIS “Panorama AGRO”. This software provided an opportunity to analyze each field, add relief plan and create thematic maps. Satellite-based monitoring of condition of crops was also connected to the system. Every week we discuss data from snapshot of biomass for fields of the company.

Having all the basic information from the fields and data of satellite monitoring our management is able to conduct a detailed analysis of agricultural productivity and to determine what factors influenced the final result.

Corporate system of land resources management

Using GIS “Map 2011” we created a single field map of the company with the list of land lease agreements and report templates.

Based on GIS server access permissions were delimited according to certain subdivisions. Such actions ensured data protection and significantly increased the productivity of labour. Both this system and field-map gave an opportunity to control the movement of land as property units. AGRICOM GROUP LIMITED got visualization and analysis of land, which simplify online monitoring of changes in landbank and its planning.

Corporate system of GPS-monitoring of equipment and vehicles

System of vehicle control was implemented at the third stage. It included a system of complex metering of fuel consumption in chain order “Petrol stations –petrol tanker – vehicles – fuel consumption in the fields”. Also control service system and system of online planning and actual performance records of agricultural vehicles of the company were added to this system.

All these measures immediately reduced fuel costs by 500 liters per month due to the clear scheme of movement of fuel, record keeping and control of amount of work performed in the fields.

“From the beginning it was a very interesting project for us, as it combined a systematic approach and integrated solutions of management issues – told Artem Belenkov – Implementation of this project gave positive results not only for the Group. We received valuable experience and skills during the process of cooperation. As the Group is actively developing, we had to improve a range of software and be flexible when it came to the project configuration. Both organization structure of AGRICOM GROUP LIMITED and its project team: CEO of the company, project manager and IT-specialists played a significant role in the process. Their motivation and interest speeded up the project implementation and increased its effectiveness.

Today, innovative technologies are an essential component of any industry; they significantly increase the productivity of enterprises. Taking into account attitude of the Group towards the use of new technologies and intensive growth towards crop growing automatization of management system became a necessity. Besides, with the introduction of modern technology in crop growing we increase the control of company assets, business transparency and information support, we reduce the risk of conduct of business for a short and long period of time “- summed up Mr. Belenkov.

Success of agricultural enterprises with leading positions in the domestic market considerably depends on efficiency of managerial decisions. Approval of such decision is based on personal experience of the leader and on the possibility of timely receipt of accurate and complete data on all resources of the company. Complex control systems of land banks, agricultural technology and monitoring systems for agricultural and cargo-carrying equipment are used in modern agriculture to get and process such data. Petro Melnyk, CEO of Agricom Group, and Artem Belenkov, chief of “Panorama Consulting”, told about joint experience of introduction of such innovation in the agro industrial group AGRICOM GROUP LIMITED.
