Agritourism in the United States of America: specialist of Agricom Group adopted experience of foreign farmers

The next day after arriving in Kansas City, the group went to the unique “cave” AGCO warehouse of spare parts in Independence. Finished products from replacement parts to combines are stored in this unusual building, which is underground. There is no doubt, that this enterprise is one of the best global companies working in this industry through its level of labour management and innovation. Taking into account wide variety of products stored, and their characteristics, level of logistics development in agriculture of the United Stated is very high.

In a few days, our representatives visited AGCO Hesston located in Hesston, Kansas. The plant produces mowers Massey Ferguson IWR9870 and combines Gleaner. Guests observed the technological cycle of production: from sheet metal to finished combine. On the same day, our colleagues went to see another plant AGCO Sunflower MFG, which is located nearby. This company produces wide range of tillage equipment: cultivators, plows, disk harrows, soil looseners and others. The factory was established in 1946. In 2002 it became an individual unit of AGCO through continual improvement of its products, services and quality management system.

The fourth day of the trip was very informative, as visiting of Kansas farm allowed to get to know the unique experience of farming, rational use of equipment and labour.

The next day, delegates went to Jackson, Minnesota. AGCO Jackson provides a number of well-known brands that are sold in more than 140 countries internationally, including tractors Caterpillar, which till the ground in Chernihiv and Bilokurakyno clusters of the national agro-industrial group Agricom Group. Guests observed the factory and its production lines to see once again the advantageous of CAT, as these tractors were chosen long before our trip to the USA.

Ziegler farm, Minnesota, was the expedition’s last point of destination. Final review of the enterprise and the approaches to agriculture allowed to summarize the impressions of the American agricultural sector. “In general, the system of fertilizing is very similar to one implemented in enterprises of Agricom Group. Similar schemes and approaches are used, but what really impressed me, and what I really did not expect is the cost of the fertilizers. In the USA their cost is much lower than it is in Ukraine. Of course, this fact affects the overall economic model of the American agriculture, which differs from ours. More attention is paid to minimize human labour: the company equipped with a various vehicles and aggregates. “- said Stanislav Steshenko, Director of Bilokurakyno cluster.

Time spent abroad, of course, flew very fast, but employees of Agricom Group have received the unique experience and knowledge, which will be adopted and implemented in the Group. We thank heartily “Volinskaya Fondovaya Kompaniya” for the invitation, financial and organizational support of our trip.

Delegates of the national agro-industrial group Agricom Group visited the United States of America to learn new agricultural methods and visit factories, where tractors and agricultural implements are produced. “Volinskaya Fondovaya Kompaniya” arranged our agriexpedition and provided us with organizational and financial support.
